Homeschooling Responsibilities:
In order to be a part of the Homeschool Discipleship Academy (HDA) a family must be legally homeschooling their children in accordance with the laws of WA state. The HDA is a supplemental help for parents who want to bring a community aspect to their homeschooling and would like their children to have exposure to a culture deeply invested in growing in holiness. The parents are still the primary teacher of their students in all subjects and are responsible for safeguarding the education of their own children.
Safe Environment:
The Homeschool Discipleship Academy requires all teachers, parents, and volunteers to go through safe environment training with the Archdiocese of Seattle and to stay current on their training from year to year.
Here is a list of upcoming sessions (choose “Seattle, WA (archdiocese)”):

Curriculum and Book List
● Part of these programs will be done communally:
○ I would like everyone to participate in the history rhymes every week. No other
history material is required for the academy, but if you do choose to use these
programs more fully, then what you do in depth at home will match up nicely with
what we do in class.
○ All students will present after each history unit. I will give the students some
options based on the material we cover.
○ We will do the science experiments together as a class and record them in the student books linked to below. However, if a student is not using the student books for physics, they can do their lab reports on a separate sheet of paper or in a notebook.
