About Us

The Homeschool Discipleship Academy

The Homeschool Discipleship Academy (HDA) is a ministry for Catholic homeschoolers. The HDA seeks to surround homeschooling families with a community that strives to reach the heights of the spiritual life, to bring a communal aspect to learning, and to order our academic pursuits to the glory of God in a meaningful way. Parents who join must be dedicated to living in good standing with the Catholic Church, living in a state of grace, and answering the universal call to holiness by heeding the timeless spiritual wisdom of the Church as it is expressed in the writing of the saints.

Jesse Hinde (Teacher)

Jesse is the founder of Zeteo: Laity for the Kingdom and teaches history and religion at the Homeschool Discipleship Academy. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Master of Arts degree in Theology, has years of professional tutoring experience, taught Mathematics and Religion at a private Catholic school for 5 years, and has worked with children of all ages for almost 20 years through various endeavors such as ministry, camps, teaching, tutoring, directing afterschool & summer programs, and being a parent. He is the father of six children and those who know him would probably say that he has a great love for spiritual conversations, birds, Thomas Aquinas, and books (but not in that order).

Lisa Sosa (Teacher)

Lisa teaches science and art at the Homeschool Discipleship Academy.  She has her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Career and Technical Education Teaching. She has taught culinary, sewing, child development, health and interior design and been a club advisor for 6 years in the public schools. She enjoyed working in campus ministry for a year as a peer minister, has spent many years in aquatics lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons, and is now transitioning to being a homeschooling mom. Her passions include liturgical living and adventuring with her kids.
